In the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan, MEET set out goals which were the centre of its focus for the five year period. As the Trust plans for the next five years (2024 – 2029), the goals remain unchanged and are centred around four themes namely; effective programming, financial sustainability, institutional capacity, and partnerships. Thus, the goals which shall drive this Strategic Plan are:
  • Effective programming
  • Financial sustainability
  • Strengthened institutional capacity
  • Strengthened partnerships
The Resource Mobilization Strategy supports the delivery of all the goals in the strategic plan. MEET is expected to develop and leverage resources and partnerships to maximize longer term, flexible and predictable revenue flows that support positive conservation actions in the field in accordance with national policies and strategies.
Resource Mobilization Objectives
The overall objective of the Resource Mobilization Programme is to put in place an enabling environment for resource mobilization efforts and mobilize adequate resources required for the implementation of the MEET Strategic Plan (2024 – 2029).

The immediate objectives are to:

  • To grow the current Endowment Fund by reducing dependence on the Fund;
  • Attract financial and technical resources for implementation of the priority activities identified in the Strategic Plan; and
  • Leverage development partnership and technical cooperation for programmatic support in priority thematic areas.
